About this site

The name "Denying Death 2525" came from two different ideas.

I have been reading the book "Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker. It is one of the best books I have read, if not the best. The book talks about how we as humans have realised that we will die, and we hate it. It is the reason we stay awake a lot of nights, and when we realise our mortality, we think of some higher purpose that will outlast our body. Like believing in God, creating buildings in our name, and fighting wars to rule over land, we associate ourselves with an object, a human, or a country, and we do everything we can to protect it, because we want parts of us to survive.

This idea is often called the "Immortality project", and you can think of this site as one of my immortality projects.

The number 2525 is 500 years from now. I want to write about things that the humans in that period will relate to and learn from, if this site survives.
